Love the style of your game! The character controls pretty good too.
One of the issues for me when playing is that death is very sudden. There is no freeze frame or pause when I die by something and I get disoriented from it. The signs placed in the game made me think there was something to read on them, so that is confusing for a bit.
Overall I think the game play pretty good. If you add some sounds to it as well you can get some good feedback and juice.
